This is a Workhorse District and we mean business!

To the people of the 10th District, I am still here for you and with you. Thank you

Millions of Dollars for the 10th District
Community development money from unused public and private funds. Grants management training for the 10th Congressional District.

The 9 Square’s vision is to: encourage community self-sufficiency. Our goals are wellness, home ownership, and micro-enterprises that serve the community. This project will bring millions of dollars to the 10th Congressional District to rebuild the communities. The project will bring funds to provide qualified, certified healthcare providers, educators and others to support nutrition, psychological and physical wellbeing of our citizens. Job training efforts will be created using grants as well as micro-manufacturing to provide local employment.
The target population will be segmented for instance, by youth groups, 25-35 year olds ex-offenders, mothers with small children, the elderly and entrepreneurs. There are thousands of grant opportunities for the community based on need. The 9 Square team will go to their area each weekend to meet the people and find out what their needs are.
With 41% of the 600,000 District African American, the goal is to bring $100 million to the community over a 5 year period in services and programming.
Projects could include education services, food security, medical services, exporting of micro-manu-facturing programs. Renovation of hundreds of vacant buildings will be part of the program to increase the value of the communities as well as clean up projects. Leadership programs will be included to ensure the next generation appreciates the legacy given to them.
Every community within in the 10th Congressional District is in need of services and programs to enrich the lives of the constituents. A paredo of the District uncovered that 80% of the need can be solved by providing social, medical and educational programming to the lower 20% of the income population first.

Under the name of the Workhorse Projects, the Embry Institute created the 9 Square program to aggregate public and private grant funds for the purpose of community development much like United Way. A team of two or three people from each social group, community organization and church will be trained to survey community needs, create the service group and manage the grant, to include reporting and marketing. This way the community will be able to “fish” for itself and become self-sustaining. The project will begin with the 50 churches in the African American community. Each church will be responsible for the 9 square blocks directly surrounding it. Each week the area will be surveyed for the needs of the people. The Workhorse Project team will train church team members to search for grants that provide services or programs to match the need, as well as how to create the proposal and manage the grant to include reporting and marketing. Each grant will be evaluated for how well it met the needs and how well it was communicated.

We help you get grant money to fulfill your mission.  Looking for professional, church and social groups with a community development mission.
